Fostering Faithful Connections Together
The late Bishop Jeremiah and the late Dr. Willie Mae Reed (affectionately known as Mother Reed) dedicated their lives to fostering spiritual growth, spreading of the Gospel and a shared sense of purpose within our community.
A Fellowship Built on Faith and Connection

Bishop and Mother Reed served in the apostolic church for over 50 years. They came into the apostolic faith together in 1961. They were faithful members under their pastor, District Elder James P. Foster, before beginning a great work for the Lord in Des Moines, lowa in 1969. When the Lord called Bishop Reed to preach he gave him the scripture, “…Feed my sheep” (John 21:15-17).
Bishop Reed served as District Elder and Council Chairman in the 8th Episcopal District Tri-State Council (lowa, Nebraska and Wyoming) of the P.A.W. In 1983, he was elevated to the office of Bishop and placed over the state of Wyoming and later the Tri-State Council (lowa, Nebraska & Wyoming). In November of 1997, Bishop Reed was anointed to be presiding bishop of a group of apostolic churches. Then in March 2003, the Lord used Presiding Bishop Reed to re-organize and the organization became Christ Apostolic Temple, Inc. Fellowship (CATIF).
Bishop Reed’s ministry grew tremendously over 48 years. During his time in Des Moines, he built two church buildings and the C.A.T.I.F. headquarters from the ground up. With Mother Reed by his side, he started many churches in Iowa, Missouri, and Louisiana, just to name a few. In some cases, the saints of Christ Apostolic Temple joined Bishop and Mother Reed for crusades in different cities to spread the gospel.
Bishop and Mother Reed were dedicated to holiness and serving God’s people throughout their entire ministry. They were married 62 years, raising four children in the church. Bishop and Mother Reed were godly examples not only to the saints in Des Moines but to many of God’s children all over the world. Their life and legacy still impact lives today!
